BALTIMORE, Md. – The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) honored a pharmacy professor as a recipient of a prestigious national award recognizing the best paper published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education last year.

Dr. Sharon Park, professor of clinical & administrative sciences and assistant dean for academic affairs & assessment in the School of Pharmacy & Health Professions, won the 2025 Rufus A. Lyman Award for co-authoring the award-winning article titled, “A National Survey of Perceptions Around Conditions Associated with Pharmacy Faculty Workload Equity,” alongside a distinguished team of pharmacy educators and researchers from institutions across the country.

The paper dives into analyzing faculty perceptions regarding workload equity in pharmacy education. The insights Dr. Park and her fellow authors gained are poised to promote equitable practices within academic pharmacy settings. They wrote, “This was the first national survey of pharmacy faculty perceptions around the conditions associated with workload equity.”

“We are thrilled to celebrate Dr. Sharon Park’s outstanding achievement as the recipient of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Rufus A. Lyman Award — one of the highest honors in academic pharmacy,” said Dr. Matthew Shimoda, dean and associate professor, for the School of Pharmacy & Health Professions. “This recognition is a powerful testament to her unwavering dedication to advancing pharmacy education and scholarship. Her work not only elevates the national discourse, but also brings great pride and distinction to the entire School of Pharmacy & Health Professions community.”

The AACP will formally recognize Dr. Park and her co-authors at the upcoming Pharmacy Education 2025 Annual Meeting in July.
